Coyote tracking

I went Coyote tracking yesterday morning. I found where a pack of 3 slept, ate, fought, and where they went hunting the next day.

This is where a coyote had slept.

This is three sets of coyote tracks merging into one, this way it looks like it's just a lone coyote.
Tracks to the evening den. it doesn't have to be well protected since during the winter coyotes move often.

Last nights' dinner, a rabbit and a bird.

And here is one of our light Brahma hens, the coyotes didn't kill her she died of a prolapse blow out(not a pretty sight) which is caused by a hen maturing to early. We had buried her out in the pasture where the coyotes dug it up. And I found it in their den.

Our Home

Our house in the cold snow. I'm feeling very blessed  for our wood stove, and those who keep it going Dad,Joseph and I. ) so our house can be warm. :D The Lord blesses our lives every day, we just need to notice it more often.

Lil' Miss Baker

So I come into the kitchen and find Jess (my little sister) standing on a chair with a apron on, and she is surrounded by various baking ingredients. It turns out that Jess had asked mom to make cookies with her, but jess couldn't wait and started "baking" without mom. In the end mom helped her create a kind of sugar cookie using what she had already put together.

                                                     Jess and her mixture.

Jess and the cookies mom helped her make.

The end result, which actually tasted pretty good. :)

I'm ready for Spring!

I'm ready for spring now, are you? I like the snow, but 3 weeks is enough for me. The weather here drives me crazy! At first you're glad to finally get the snow, and for the first 4 days it's welcome, and then when it freezes, which is the best for sledding, but then it all melts. Now the air is warm, and the next day it snows again and the processes  is repeated.

Here are pictures I took during the warm days.

                                                            Drip, drip drip......

Proof of that winter can't hold spring back forever. (only some of the grass is green)

The cow pasture, with patches of snow here and there.

Sun melt the snow and let spring come forth! :P

This is what keeps us warm through the winter, and it's where our hot water comes from,
a  Hardy wood  furnace.
